Degritter is a multi-award-winning record-cleaning machine, designed to quickly and easily clean your records down to the microscopic level, making your favourite records sound better and your stylus last longer.

So how does Degritter work?

Unlike most dry brush record cleaners, which push dust around, and wet record cleaners which can struggle to get deep into the grooves, Degritter uses ultrasonic pressure waves to create microscopic bubbles, breaking up dust and dirt deep inside the record's grooves. This cleans your records to perfection.

Cleaning - Before & After

Degritters cleaning has been thoroughly tested and researched with the help of digital and electron microscopes. The images below show the effect of Degritters cleaning after a 5-minute cycle with no detergent or solution, just distilled water.

At the heart of the Degritter is their 120kHz ultrasonic cleaning system. This utilises a 300W amplifier and four transducers to ensure records are cleaned thoroughly. A cleaning cycle creates thousands of microscopic bubbles in the cleaning bath, these bubbles are small enough to travel deep into the grooves of your records. The bubbles then pop, creating a water jet which cleans the inner grooves down to the microscopic level.

Ultrasonic cleaning is used commonly in the semiconductor industry where surfaces must be clean on a molecular level, however, Degritter has been tuned to clean records, with a much high frequency, creating smaller bubbles.

Active Filtering

Degritter features active filtering which circulates its water through a fine mesh filter while your record is being cleaned. This water is taken from the top of the tank, to remove floating dust. Heavy particulates and dirt settle at the bottom and are automatically removed into the dedicated waste sediment bin. Maintenance of the filtering system is easy, with a quickly removable, replaceable foam filter and washable steel mesh housing.
