Marantz's PM6005 isn't simply an upgraded version of its multi-award winning predecessor, the PM6004 - it has an even more refined circuit design, featuring higher quality audiophile components, within a well screened enclosure to minimise distortion. With the PM6005, you now have the ability to connect this exceptional amplifier straight in to an array of different digital sources thanks to the new digital input board with optical and coaxial SPDIF inputs, and make use of it's remarkable on-board DAC, which creates an insanely detailed and exceptionally high level of audio enjoyment when used in conjunction with new media. The digital inputs and DAC are screened in a metal sub-enclosure, to completely contain any digital interference associated with this type of circuitry, therefore protecting the sensitive analogue signal path.

The DAC within the unit is the excellent sounding 24bit/192kHz high current CS4398, which has already proved itself in many other Premium products, and the complete digital section is completely shielded by an extra metal housing to make sure that the digital stage has absolutely no effect on the analogue signal.
