The brand new KEF LS50 Meta, the predecessor to the original LS50 turned out to be a very successful speaker in a lot of departments. The new Meta takes you to a new revolutionary metamaterial absorption technology which has a rather complex, maze-like structure which helps to eliminate any undesirable soundwave reflections from the rear of the driver, this technology results in a much rich and purer sound, making it sound more natural. The previous LS50s was one of our favourites in the shop, in fact, one of our staff members went and brought a pair for his own system. They sounded incredible and looked the part, so we expect the new Meta to sound just as good.

The price is marginally higher than the previous LS50 so they now have to compete with other speakers around this price point, these stay on point with the similar-looking KEF LSX wireless speakers but now have to go up against speakers from other manufacturers, it's a good thing KEF know how to make a speaker stand out. With a new LS50 comes a new wireless version of it, the KEF LS50 Wireless 2, see our listing for this speaker here.

We believe that this speaker has a lot of potential with all sorts of systems, mainly for those who already have an eye for music, or those who are potentially just starting out with a larger budget, you can put these speakers in any sort of environment and even add them to your own home-theatre system if you're looking for a more dynamic approach to music or movies.

Naim Uniti Atom All-In-One Network Player

Don't let its small stature fool you. While the Atom is the most compact Uniti network player, it still offers a vast range of connectivity options, a rich and room-filling 40 watts of power per channel and the same robust, premium build as its bigger brothers. Atom has been designed and engineered to the highest standard, aimed toward the discerning audiophile listener who doesn't have a space for larger, separate boxes. The Atom is ready to go from the box, requiring only a connection to the WiFi and a pair of quality loudspeakers.

All digital sources are decoded by the Star's powerful and extremely accurate 40-bit SHARC DSP processor (fourth generation). A unique Naim software manages this processor to reduce potential jitter to an absolute minimum and up-sample lesser quality formats and files that may be running through the system.

Who is Naim and what is their Uniti Series?

Naim Audio has a special place in British audio, thanks to its founder and inspirational leader Julian Vereker, a hugely talented mechanical and electronic engineer with a passion for, amongst many things, music. Founded in 1973, Naim has always had a firm philosophy of music first, measurements second - each Naim product is extensively auditioned as part of the product development process to make sure that it delivers clear, emotional music-making ability. Naim products are designed to bring the closest facsimile of a live music event into your home listening environment, to give you maximum pleasure from your music collection.

'Uniti' is the term given to Naim's series of all-in-one network players, designed and engineered to offer a flexible and versatile operation while retaining the best possible sound performance without compromise - something Naim has become renowned for over many years as a critically acclaimed home audio/Hi-Fi manufacturer. The Uniti series also allows for multiroom audio, allowing you to link one or more players together in order to fill your home with flawless sound from a wide range of sources.

Naim App

The Atom can be controlled via Naim's app. Once loaded, there will be a 'Rooms' page, find the Atom and you are then ready to browse. The app will come with Tidal (high res streaming app), giving you the ability to search for any song you desire. Suppose streaming songs aren't your personal preference. In that case, you can browse over hundreds of internet radio stations or if you've already got a Spotify account, you can use Spotify Connect to the Atom and listen to all your songs from any playlist.
