Ortofon 2M Red Moving Magnet Cartridge

The 2M Red is one of our most popular cartridges, due to its exceptional quality and accessible price point. The name comes from the type of cartridge that it is, two M's - MM, which stands for Moving Magnet. The 2M Red is the entry-level 'colour' model in the 2M series and features the same Ortofon-specific split pole pins found in all models in the 2M range. This innovative invention allows moving magnet cartridges to perform with flat frequency response, similar to how a moving coil cartridge operates. 

The design of the 2M Red has been optimised in order for the cartridge to be easily mounted, while the weight and size of the cartridge should fit the most common turntables found on the market today.
