Ortofon Quintet Black S MC Cartridge

Ortofon is committed to delivering the best quality cartridges for your turntable, in an effort to offer the most refined and exquisite analogue sound quality. Ortofon has introduced around 100 different moving coil cartridge models since 1948, with the newest range being the colourful and capable Quintet Series.

Ortofon believes that the new Quintet range is more than qualified to be the worthy successor to the vast line of high-quality turntable cartridges they've developed previously, and just by consulting the specifications - it's not hard to see why. The Quintet series has been described as possessing its 'own individual sonic expression', and each of the five models together represents the team of five classic models.

The Quintet Black S is the most capable of the Quintet range, and truly reflects the deluxe and exquisite nature of the series as a whole. The Black S is gifted with a premium Nude Shibata diamond, which is considered one of the highest-performing stylus profiles available. This stylus is placed upon a high-performance Sapphire cantilever.

The Shibata's slim, and highly polished profiles provide an exceedingly vast contact area to the walls of the groove, this ensures that the most precise and specific details of your music collection and reproduced purely and throughout the spectrum, even the most high-frequency groove information which may otherwise be lost with lesser cartridges. The Quintet Black S is able to bring your vinyl collection to an entirely, never-before-heard level of life and vibrant dynamics - no matter the genre or style of music.

While Moving Magnet cartridges tend to offer a more relaxed, warmer sound, Moving Coils are known for offering a better level of detail and a wider stereo field than the Moving Magnet alternatives. Moving Coil Cartridges will often require an external phono-stage specific to their construction. Ortofon is committed to delivering the best quality cartridges for your turntable, in an effort to offer the most refined and exquisite analogue sound quality. Ortofon has introduced around 100 different moving coil cartridge models since 1948, with the newest range being the colourful and capable Quintet Series.
