Project Pick-IT DS2 MC Cartridge 

The new Project Pick-IT DS2 is the newest Moving Coil concept from Project. This cartridge primarily aimed at the passionate vinyl listeners who own a mid-to-high-end turntable. This cartridge is designed to be both easy to set-up and most importantly, irresistible to listen to. Because of the lower moving mass of the moving coil system - a more dynamic and detailed sound with low distortion is made possible. To get the max potential out of this MC, the Pick-IT DS2 makes use of the brilliantly developed nude elliptical diamond stylus to perfectly playback any vinyl. Housed within a polyamide shell, purpose-chosen for its excellent mechanical properties, the Pick-IT DS2 is made using a special Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) manufacturing process that involves using a laser to melt the housing material into a given shape. The end-result is a near-resonance-free housing, which is still light and has no negative impact on the end audio performance. The Pick-IT DS2's four connectors on the back are gold-plated, whilst the top-plate with three contact-points and threaded bolt-holes make it both an easy and sturdy installation.

Who is Project?

Project started in the hifi business designing and manufacturing affordable stereo turntables in the early 1990s, beginning with the entry-level Debut model. It was a great success, like all other turntables on the market at that time were at least £100 more expensive, without offering a performance benefit. Project has gone on to extend the range of turntables they offer at all popular price points and performance levels, through midrange to high-end models.
