Rega's DAC-R features a newly developed version of the Rega designed circuit, resulting in the highest possible resolution of digital audio across all of the unit's inputs. This includes a fully asynchronous USB port for the direct playback of high-resolution audio file formats stored on a PC. The fascia has been redesigned over the previous model, now allowing for a much clearer indication of the frequency of the input, while new and improved optical TOSLink input connections now accommodate thicker quality cables than before. 

Two Wolfson WM8742 DAC chipsets sit parallel to each other with a robust, Rega-specific aluminium and steel case housing. Inputs of the DAC-R include the quality, isolated asynchronous USB, two isolated co-axial and two TOSLink SPDIF inputs. The DAC-R has been designed to work flawlessly with other Rega hifi components, but will operate as a superior DAC in any system of similar calibre.
