Ruark Audio is delighted to reveal the latest version of its R2 music system. The all-new design brings one of the company’s longest-established models right up to date while retaining the key features that have made the R2 so popular since its launch in 2007. The most apparent change from its predecessors is the R2 Mk4’s slimmer footprint. Such elegant new proportions allow the system to be placed almost anywhere in the home and makes it perfect for a windowsill or bookshelf location. The appearance of R2 is simple yet stunning, and totally in tune with what design-conscious customers are seeking today. The enclosure, with precise lines and soft contours, combines with the slatted wood grille to create a timeless retro-modern feel.

Along with its bonded glass display and Ruark’s trademark, RotoDial controller sited atop, R2 is undoubtedly a Ruark design and the quality remains clear. A complete music system, R2 is equipped with DAB+, FM and internet tuners with pre-sets. It directly supports major streaming services including Spotify, Amazon Music and Deezer, and with a quality Bluetooth receiver every other streaming service available. The Bluetooth function also seamlessly integrates with the volume function on phones and tablets, so the volume can be easily raised or reduced as desired. R2 also features a USB-C charge and playback port, switchable auxiliary line input and headphone output. The remote control is available through the UNDOK app, or a compact handset is available as an optional extra. The colour LCD clearly displays time, alarm and programme information including station and album artwork, and auto-adjusts to suit ambient light levels. Like all Ruark products, the R2 incorporates carefully selected technologies to deliver wonderfully clear and effortless sound. The linear amplifier linked with the company’s proprietary NS+ drivers and adaptive equalisation provides the perfect sound balance for enjoying all music and spoken-word content, making R2 an essential way to relax and unwind in today’s seemingly manic world.

Who is Ruark?

Ruark Audio is a family-owned British company, founded in 1986 that specialises in compact lifestyle radio systems. The company found massive success with the launch of its first unit, the R1, which has since evolved into its third rendition. Shortly after the R1 was launched, a multitude of larger and more prolific products began to appear on Ruark's catalogue and soon after, the same products would be seen in kitchens, bedrooms, offices and living rooms all over the world. Ruark is well known in the world of HiFi speakers from the '80s and '90s.
