What Ruark does well is simple yet effective and the R3 is one of those products. After spending a lot of time with R5, we already have a good idea of how the new R3 is going to work. Radio / Internet Radio

With radio stations still being one of the top choices for listening, the R3s will let you enjoy your music or talk shows with its SmartRadio tuner. This feature will allow you to access any DAB/DAB+ station with also the FM tuning side of things. It's not over yet though, this also has an Internet radio tuner, giving you access to thousands of other various radio stations you wish to explore, not only that, you have access to more podcasts as well for those who enjoy a good ol' debate. I feel like this is a step in the right direction as more and more people are starting to tune into radio stations, it's also great to see that all the other Ruark products follow these steps too.

CD Functionality 

CD is still a great way to enjoy music and with its high-specification player, R3S allows customers to reconnect with their CDs and rediscover the fun of browsing cover art and liner notes. Alongside standard CDs, R3S also plays homemade CDs encoded with WAV and MP3 files and will display track and artist data if this information is available on the disc.

On the rear panel, we've included a USB-C playback and charge port, a headphone output and switchable analogue and digital inputs so devices such as a Turntable or TV can be easily connected. For film buffs and lovers of bass-orientated music, the line outputs can be switched to connect to an active subwoofer. Our own RS1 subwoofer is a perfect match for R3S adding an extra level of dynamic realism to its already impressive sound.

Streaming

R3S directly supports key streaming services including Spotify Connect*, Amazon Music and Deezer, and with its latest generation Bluetooth 5 receiver every other streaming service available. Bluetooth 5 provides excellent sound quality with a more robust and efficient connection meaning that connected devices will run longer without needing a recharge. The Bluetooth function also seamlessly integrates with the volume control on phones and tablets, so when the volume is adjusted this also shows on the display of R3S.

Radio is evolving and with its SmartRadio tuner R3S will maximise your enjoyment of this timeless medium. DAB/DAB+ and FM tuners provide access to local and national broadcasts and its Internet Tuner allows you access to high-quality streams and stations worldwide. In addition to the growth of Podcasts, R3S now has a source dedicated to this increasingly popular format. For listen-again shows and whatever your interest, a podcast to suit your taste is only a few clicks away using our slick RotoDial controller or supplied IR remote. Also available is a free Android and iOS control app called Oktiv. This also allows full control of R3S and is particularly useful for searching Internet radio stations and podcasts.

Who is Ruark Audio?

Ruark Audio is a family-owned British company, founded in 1986, well known for its specialist speakers range, now specialising in compact lifestyle radio systems. The company found massive success with the launch of its first unit, the R1, which has since evolved into its third rendition. Shortly after the R1 was launched, a multitude of larger and more prolific products began to appear on Ruark's catalogue and soon after, the same products would be seen in kitchens, bedrooms, offices and living rooms all over the world.
