The Classic AMP is the latest update to an integrated amplifier that has been part of the Cyrus product range for over a decade.

This integrated amplifier provides a significant step up in performance from previous versions by using everything that we learnt when developing the fantastic XR Series but retaining the familiar design of the Classic series. The circuit design has been completely re-designed and the majority of the internal components have been upgraded by the Cyrus R&D team, which has resulted in sound improvements that will help the Classic series retain a loyal fan base for years to come.

The power amplifier delivers 91W per channel into 6Ω. The wideband design responds from D.C. to beyond 50kHz to ensure a flat frequency response and minimal phase shift through the audio band. The analogue preamp features relay input selection for the five analogue inputs and a precision gain control for volume. The design is intentionally wide bandwidth. The power supply includes a 304VA toroidal power transformer delivering power to a high-capacity power supply reserve. The preamplifier power supply is electrically separated from the power amplifier and driven from its own transformer winding. Digital control circuits are assigned a separate main power supply, completely isolated from the signal circuitry. The Classic Amp includes a port for the PSX-R power supply. Power from the PSX-R is routed internally to the analogue stages of the preamplifier to provide a more stable, low-noise power supply for the analogue preamp and post-DAC stages of the D/A converter.

Cyrus CD I Integrated CD Player

Cyrus recognises that for many music enthusiasts the Compact Disc is a preferred source and will continue to be for many years. Cyrus designs and engineers a range of high-performance CD players to guarantee the best possible performance from your precious CD collection at various price points, making the acclaimed standard of Cyrus even more accessible.

Cyrus has been a leading pioneer of CD player development since 1983 when its renowned engineers helped to develop one of the first specialist CD players on the market. Their current range of CD players utilises their innovative and specialist Servo Evolution technology which has been uniquely designed to retrieve the data from an audio disc with the minimum level of errors possible.

The CD i is a high-fidelity CD player that makes full use of Cyrus' Servo Evolution CD engine. The CD I was built not from the ground up, but instead built from the top-down, borrowing technology and design methods from higher-end models by Cyrus. The the32-bit DAC chipset is the same as can be found in their flagship DAC XP Signature model. Twin analogue outputs make for an easy connection to your analogue amplifier. A choice of two digital outputs means that you are able to retrieve even more information from the CD i with the use of a higher-end dedicated DAC if wanted.

The CD I can be upgraded further with Cyrus' PSX-R Power Supply.

The prodigy5 floorstander is compact but powerful, taking up no more space than bookshelf speakers on stands thanks to a small footprint suited to any style of the room – yet it can fill even larger spaces with weighty, crisply defined music.

This is a phenomenal communicator, packed with verve and fun, combining a sweet, open treble with wide dispersion to provide a vast listening ‘sweet spot’ with excellent focus. It also delivers transparent, natural vocals and instrumental sound, and an untainted, solid bottom end.

Thanks to an extended Advanced Transmission Line with twin Laminair vents for smoother airflow, the prodigy5 lives up to its name with prodigious bass power. That is combined with tight, clean control for a really dynamic, thrilling presentation of the true weight of the music, almost regardless of where you place the speakers in the room.

Designed to reveal all the quality of your favoured electronics, the slender prodigy5 will blend into any space, with the option of grilles available for those who like their speakers even more discreet.

ATL Technology

One of the keys to our legendary natural, uncoloured sound is our Advanced Transmission Line (ATL) bass-loading. ATL uses energy generated by the bass unit in a much more intelligent and efficient way than speaker designs based on ported or sealed boxes. Our Laminair airflow technology further enhances ATL and improves definition, and timing and eradicates unwanted air noise.

Running In

When loudspeakers are new they will take time to reach their full potential. It is often debated whether any solid-state equipment, such as CD players or transistor-based power amplifiers change with use, but the characteristics of mechanical devices such as loudspeakers do alter and improve their performance significantly after a short ‘running in’ period.
The science is simple; as the soft material surrounding the dome or woofer cone is flexed it will eventually reach a point where it has optimum compliance allowing the drive unit to move more freely. This translates to greater accuracy
and speed of attack in the bass region and the mid and high frequency produces a far more vivid audio picture. This ‘running in’ period takes approximately 50 hours of normal use.

Speaker positioning

With their unique ATLTM Advanced Transmission Line design, wide dispersion, ultra-low distortion and smooth bass roll-off, PMC loudspeakers are more forgiving of difficult room conditions and placement constraints than conventional designs
so you will be able to achieve a superb sound throughout the room with little effort. We do encourage you to spend some time experimenting in your own room in order to achieve the very best results, remembering that small changes in
location can often influence system performance.
Room shape, size, construction and interior decoration vary immensely and therefore influence the sound in different ways. The following guidelines are suggestions for the starting point to locate your new speakers. Fine-tuning of their positioning can start from here
