Rega Exact Moving Magnet Cartridge

The Exact is Rega's finest Moving Magnet cartridge, offering a refined and natural sound that is gripping and guaranteed to get your foot tapping. Every Exact MM is hand-built by master engineers using techniques closer to swiss watchmaking than to the assembly line, with incredibly tight tolerances that have to be... Exact.

The Exact has a body moulded from one single piece of anti-resonant plastic with no energy-sapping joints between cartridge and stylus, ensuring no musical energy is needlessly lost. The cartridge's top face is machined perfectly flat to achieve maximum contact between the cartridge and headshell, giving perfect tracking. Due to its no-compromise unibody design, the Exact doesn't have a user-replaceable stylus, however, Rega offers a rebuild scheme where you can purchase a rebuilt Exact cartridge at a discounted price when you trade in a worn or damaged Exact. The rebuild process includes a replacement cantilever, stylus and pivot pad, along with a 48-hour test to ensure the cartridge works perfectly.

Every part of the Exact has been designed and engineered from scratch, from the hand-wound coils, which required a custom-built coil winding machine (again, designed by Rega) to the unique 'pivot pad' design to secure the cantilever in place, resulting in no mechanical joint or signal loss. This attention to detail produces an excellent Moving Magnet cartridge that will bring your vinyl collection to life.

Rega Rebuild scheme

The unique pivot pad design of Rega cartridges improves performance by eliminating the mechanical joint between the stylus housing and the main body. This vastly improves the tracking ability and stability of the stylus. If you should damage or wear your Rega cartridge, simply return it to us and we will supply you with a rebuild cartridge fitted with a new cantilever, stylus and pivot pad. Each rebuild is fully tested over two days as a new cartridge would be. The rebuild is sold at a reduced price once you trade in your worn or damaged cartridge that is equivalent to a replacement stylus offered by other manufacturers.
