Crafted in collaboration with Nordoff and Robbins - a music therapy charity that uses the power of music to break through the barriers of disability, illness, and injustice - R1 Mk4 strengthens the bond between fan and artist with a powerful audio performance that makes every piece of music truly sing.
A donation to the charity will be made for every one of the limited-edition R1 Mk4 radios sold. Nordoff and Robbins also received several units to be raffled off at its annual O2 Silver Clef Awards on 5th July 2024. 

The new, improved Ruark R1 MK4 - The next lifecycle for the R1. Ruark set the bar high when they released the R5 and the rather new R3, so we expect nothing shy of impressive. A few features are that the new cabinet for the R1 has been cleverly acoustically tuned, a linear amplifier paired with Ruark's NS+ driver to produce an eminently listenable sound at any level of volume. A brand new OLED display (following the same footsteps of the R3) has been implemented, as before, this will show you all the meta-information when playing any song or on any station, it also vividly shows time, alarm and programme information and auto-adjusts to suit ambient light levels making it a perfect bedside companion.

Who is Ruark?

Ruark Audio is a family-owned British company, founded in 1986 that specialises in compact lifestyle radio systems. The company found massive success with the launch of its first unit, the R1, which has since evolved into its third rendition. Shortly after the R1 was launched, a multitude of larger and more prolific products began to appear on Ruark's catalogue and soon after, the same products would be seen in kitchens, bedrooms, offices and living rooms all over the world. Ruark is well known in the world of HiFi speakers from the '80s and '90s.
